Was Lily Allen in the Men’s?

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

British singer Lily Allen denies reports she was ejected from a London nightclub with Razorlight star Johnny Borrell for using the men’s toilets. The “Smile” hitmaker and Borrell were reportedly thrown out of the trendy Dolce nightclub on Wednesday after Allen was caught using the men’s room.

But Allen denies she did anything wrong.

She says, “Yes I was in the men’s toilets, but I always go to the men’s toilets when there’s a huge queue in the ladies. I did go in there and asked the attendant if I could go and he said, ‘No you can’t’ and I walked out. I think (Johnny and comedian Noel Fielding) did get thrown out by security but that had nothing to do with me, that’s what I am pissed off about.”

Kelly and Nelly with a dash of Usher

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Destiny’s Child superstar Kelly Rowland ended a weekend of house hunting in Chelsea by blowing £116,000 on booze and food with  friends Usher and Nelly at two London night clubs.

First up, Rowland spent £6,000 on barbecued grub at Chelsea club Mamilanji before crossing town to ultra-glamorous Kensington club Amika.

She arrived at the celebrity hotspot with Nelly and Usher and they got stuck into the vintage Dom Perignon champagne and some rather expensive food as well.

The party went on to spend a whopping £110,000 on food and drink – way above the pricey night spot’s minimum spend rule of £1000 a table.

Kelly’s also been promoting her new album Ms Kelly while she’s been over here.

Meanwhile Usher announced today he will be doing a one off gig next week at London’s Indigo O2 area on May 22

Cocaine crackdown in the Clubs

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Nightclubs and bars frequented by Royals and top celebrities are to be tested for cocaine in a massive clampdown on drug taking.

Police and licensening officials are to descend on premises in London’s most exclusive areas over the next six months.

Clubs like Amika and Boujis, which regularly boast Princes Harry and William among its clientele, as well as a host of famous names and City high-fliersm, will be checked.

The venues, which operate in the Kensington and Chelsea borough, will not been told when they will be visited, according to reports.

Tests will be carried out in the lavatories where officers will use swabs that turn blue when they come into contact with cocaine.

Drugs use occurs across the country and the royal borough is no different

Where traces of cocaine are found, the venue’s owners will be told to take action to discourage drug-taking.

This could include measures such as minimising the number of flat surfaces in lavatories to make taking the substance more difficult and banning more than one person from entering a cubicle at the same time.

Officials will return to the premises four to six weeks after the first visit.

Nicholas Paget-Brown, cabinet member for leisure on Kensington and Chelsea council, said: “In the vast majority of cases licensees do not want this going on.

“Together with them, our message to drug users and drug dealers is that we will not turn a blind eye and we will run them out of our pubs and clubs.

Manager of Boujis Jake Parkinson-Smith has told the Evening Standard: “We have a zero-tolerance policy against any type of drug at Boujis.

“Anyone found with drugs is immediately ejected and the police informed.
