what a rubbish night could not believe it, i had heard quite good things about it, but what a disapointnment, its just a club full of trashy footballers and wannabe wags - crap music, crap atmosphere - its like everyone is scared to dance and let go. my opinion NOT a good, party atmosphere!- amy | 31 July 2009
Disgusting behaviour, was banned from the club for absolutely no reason after paying 20 pounds. Do not go to this club I promise you will regret it, had all my friends crying from the rude disrespect of the bouncers towards us

i went there on a wednesday night and had an amazing time the staff were very friendly but maybe it\'s not like that on a saturday...

Oh man, I LOVE the reviews on here! all of them soooo true. I\'ve been there millions of times and here\'s the truth. I was a student with no money...movida door staff and bouncers were all ASSHOLES! Then i left, became a stockbroker...booked a VIP table for 2500 with a few of my stuck up broker colleagues and now I\'m getting head from one of the \'stuck up\' doorladies! the tall one with the angry face, but no matter, victory is sweet! :) go there! its got great women, great food, great cocktails! but if you haven\'t got £200 min on your person...you\'re better off going to sound!(i wouldnt go to sound...ever...it\'s truly disgusting!) otherwise people, just try amika! its waaaay better anyhu x x
- HAhahahaha!!! | 15 May 2009

- rosiecheeks | 20 April 2009
well was planning on going there tonight but after reading the comments think we will find somewhere slightly more nomal and not so stuck up, sounds like a place for idiots
- rosiecheeks | 18 April 2009
arrogant illusioned stuck up people on the door obviously no idea about what equality and diversity is and how it should be displayed in society today would never recommend spending my wands of money there.............yes they diffenetly showed discrimination against me and my friends because of race how misfortunate for them. And they were proberly still bumping our tunes......ARHHHHHHHHH

Just came back from movida tonight. I was excited to begin with but wait......I walked in and everything was glamourous, can\'t deny that..lovely furniture, lovely lighting. But is that really enough for a good night. No...!No...!No....! The music was not good. The people did not look like they were having fun. Something was missing...Something about the crowd.....it was just not right!!!!! The girls did not let go and dance to party, they were so worried about their hair loosing its style that they rather dance rigid. I wish people were a bit down to earth..oh sorry i meant... i wish they had the TALENT to be down to earth. The female bouncers at the door...hahahah....Who do you think you are? Bless your souls! It was sooo not classy. If you are trying hard to be classy then it is not classy. Class is suppose to come naturally. Im never going there againnnn.

visited Movida, found it to be sooo pretentious, the girls who hold the guest lists forget that clients are paying their wages for a start, the doormen are rejects from the Ivy,or doing community service, one does not mind paying whatever for drinks if you have a good curtious bar peson not an iggy nerd, food was average, if you have to pay astonomical prices you need astonomical service, that you dont get, your made to feel that they are doing the favours by letting you in. Music was rubbish, all the so called celebrities were so far down the pecking order they should be serving not posing.I dont mind paying for a great night this I did not get and came away just short of a grand. never again....

Not cheap but worth every penny. Bar staff were particularly gorgeous!

went to movida for friends b day had lovely meal and settled on table for eve ... only to be told by staff we had to move as grace from big bro 7 wanted our table bearing in mind there was 10 of us and 2 of them !so after a little word with manager we kept our table as we d paid good money for it,and grace kept her blushing cheeks !!! but all in all had great nite with anton ferdinand and ended up in a hotel with katie price and alex curran . So moral of story is its not what you earn its all about how much fun you are .... be yourself always no matter where you are .. was fantastic eve had by all xx

Back in the days Movida was cool but now, the idiots who work there are stuck up especially the female bouncer. They tried to refuse us entry even though we were on guest list and only let us in when some guys said we were with them. it used to be one of the best but now it's the worst place in London's West end. If you want to spend a lot of money and not have fun then that's the place to go, they don't appreciate people, a bunch of stuck up cows. AVOID!

- Mary | 04 December 2008

After reading reviews, I think movida is not a place I would like to visit! Come on management tidy up your act and get your door staff etc toi change their attitude!
- eileen | 17 July 2008
i think this club STINKS...arrogant rude and not to my taste. So lowlife that people are picked out of the crowd.. how pathetic.. trying to be St Tropez!! haha big joke indeed. Spent a bomb in there and still you get no grattitude! ive always wondered why rich and good looking people are so very far up their own arses when money is just paper.... it doesnt make you better than anyone else.. and as for the looks..if it wasnt for Make up you\'d all be screwed cos your a load of fake tans and fake eye lashes... bet you dont look like that in the morning hahaha!! Guys.. you need to get a grip.
- babycakes | 13 May 2008
Maybe they didnt let us in because we were all brown and ladies at the front were rude and tho we were on guestlist, you are not allowed in, unless you are a member, waste of an effort to do a guest list and to go to soho for movida!!
- Priya | 07 May 2008
A couple of my friends invited me down to London and they ended up taking me to Movida on a Friday night. Since i\'m a New Yorker I can definitely tell you that this club is a cheap knock off, of the New York club Marquee... The club is pathetic and shows no class whatsoever. Highly unimpressive and tacky might I add.
- Sameer Oberoi | 03 April 2008
i have been to movida a few times and the girls outside with the guest lists are stuck up there own arse\'s and are rude...they think they are better than you, the club in side is nice but you will need a lot of money if you want to have a good time the drinks cost a small fortune...
- laura | 01 April 2008
Where the beautiful people go to play. I went with 3 other friends of mine and there were at least a hundred people waiting outside to go in. I got handpicked by the bouncers to let me and whoever I was with in. Fun times in London!

This club claimed to be he sexiest place on earth and – if you’ve been fortunate enough to experience Movida – you’ll know why. Its all about sipping cocktails and champagne on pristine cushioned sofa. great night out!
- Money Penny | 24 May 2007
Love it love it love it! Movida is a dream turned reality with posh furniture and music to make you dance all day long.
- Nathalie | 16 April 2007
My friend moved to London (where I live) and took me to the west end with her to check out the night life. Of course she took me to Mo*vida and I must say I had an amazing time! Yeah it was ridiculously pricey but that didn't spoil our night. Everyone was having such a great time and I didn't want to leave. A London nightclub worth visiting!
- Missy | 08 October 2006
Although it ain't St. Tropez or South Beach this is the closest thing to it on this side of the Atlantic, seducing drop-dead gorgeous types, rock stars and lucky nobodies to sip cocktailsand dance as famous DJs spin white-hot music; "surreal" on average nights, it's especially heavenly during the Saturday night parties.
- Alex | 25 May 2006
myself and a few friends went to movida on friday as we got to the door we told the bouncers what ours were, and they told us our names weren't on the list. The bouncers were very ignorant and rude.we were not given any other options. i would not recommend movida to anybody unless they are a celebrity or very wealthy. i think the door policy stinks and the bouncers are not helpful.

i went there last week for a friends birthday and we paid over £6,300, there are no words to describe how RUDE the staff are and i would NOT recommend anyone to go there
- brenda | 05 March 2006
Not great. There's a cheap feel to the interior and the music was laughable.
- Jimbo | 27 August 2005
